Beach Fitness Vacation for the Active!

Planning a beach fitness vacation? This fitness vacation is perfect for those travellers who have a passion for the ocean and beach. Our venue is located in a world heritage site known as the Isimangaliso Wetland Park.

The closest town is the quaint diving town known as Sodwana. We will be staying in a diving resort located in the lush subtropical bush common in that area. What could be better? Keeping fit while enjoying a tropical beach holiday!! And of course it’s not just about the pain and suffering that our fitness instructors are going to inflict you.

The tour also allows plenty of time for relaxation, catching upon your tan, scuba diving or just sipping on a cocktail spiked with coconut water. The tour has been designed to incorporate a multitude of activities from early morning beach workouts to a variety of water activities like snorkelling and sea kayaking. Stay fit while having fun.

Day 1

Travel day. Our scheduled tours leave from Johannesburg at 06H00. Your guides for your fitness vacation will meet you at your hotel. You will be able to notice them as they will be the ones with the bulging muscles and whey protein stains on their shirt. We then load up the vehicle, bid the city a not so fond farewell and head in a southerly direction towards the coast of Kwazulu Natal. Our final destination is a small town called Sodwana renowned for its tropical reefs and SCUBA diving. The drive takes about 8 hours.
Upon arrival, we get you settled into your accommodation, freshen up and take some time to just take in the beautiful surroundings. At 16H30 we will take a 30 minute walk to the beach where take a stroll on the deserted beach and watch the sun set over the ocean. A relaxing dinner served under the starry African night skies awaits your return.  The dinner is a healthy meal prepared by our experts.  Then it’s a glass of wine around the roaring fire and off to bed with your favourite teddy bear.

Day 2

An early morning today.  At 05H30 we will take a 30 minute walk to the beach where a 1 hour functional training session is scheduled. The session is situated amongst the secluded coastal dunes with the ocean literally lapping at your feet. After the training session you will be treated to a healthy breakfast. The rest of the morning is all yours. If SCUBA diving is your thing then maybe look at booking a dive. Other activities include kite boarding and ummmm, sun tanning. Lunch is served at 12H30 at the beach resort. At 16h30 we take a drive in the 4×4 to a magnificent coastal lake that is home to Hippo, crocodile and Fish Eagles. A 1 hour Pilate session on the banks of the lake is your next fitness vacation session. And of course the timing is just perfect as the sun sets over this gorgeous lake.  Dinner back at the resort to fuel those muscles and of course a beer or two to carbo load for the next day’s activities.

Day 3

An early morning yet again. At 05H30 we head off to the beach for what we like to call the “dune challenge”. This involves some secret training that will get your heart rate up and will definitely burn of some excess calories. After the training session you will be treated to a healthy breakfast. A snorkelling session is then the order of the day. Get to see some of Sodwana incredible underwater creatures. The session lasts about an hour and involves us snorkelling out about 200m into the ocean. After the snorkel, you are definitely going to need lunch and an afternoon siesta. The afternoon is all yours. You can go watch the sun set on the beach, schedule a horse ride on the beach, go microlighting or just chill. Dinner is served at 19h30. Fitness vacations are not just all about pain and suffering right?

Day 4

Yes you guessed it. An early morning start again. Breakfast first this time. The first activity for today is kayaking. We spend about 3 hours kayaking on a picturesque river with abundant wildlife and bird species. It is an awesome upper body workout. The rest of the day is all yours. Again, maybe a SCUBA dive is the perfect way to pass the time. After lunch, we embark on a magical quad bike tour to Lake Sibaya where a 1 hour functional Training session is your next workout. Back before the sun sets for dinner

Day 5

We leave at 06H00 and travel back to JHB
