The location

we have chosen the Drakensberg Mountains as the setting for this incredible trekking photography tour. With the ancient basalt and towers and majestic sandstone formations, these mountains are just perfect for that memorable shot. The area we will trek in is located between the Amphitheatre and the Mnweni areas of the Northern Drakensberg.

How long is the trek?

The trek from the Amphitheatre  and down Rockeries Pass is about 60km which we cover in 4 days. So you would have to be fit enough to handle 15km a day at an average altitude of 3000m.

Where we stay overnight

This trekking photography tour involves trekking in the Drakensberg. The escarpment is super remote and there are zero facilities on the hike. Our team will set up tents at the various camp sites along the way. There are also no toilet and shower facilities on the trek. We source our water from the pure mountain streams.

Its all about the light in a photography tour

We have included plenty of time in the mornings and late afternoons for taking photos.
