The coast got its name from the numerous ships that have found their fate on the rocky cliffs. Its reputation as being one of the most dangerous seas to sail in Africa is the home to over many shipwrecks. But luckily you won’t be braving the seas in a ship.
So walking this ruggedly beautiful coastline by foot is the way to go. The highlight of the walk is the accommodation. We spend the evenings in local Xhosa dwellings.
