8am - Pick up

08:00 – Meet & Briefing
Meet your guide at the designated trailhead in Hermanus. After a short safety briefing and introduction to the route, you'll begin your ascent into the Kleinrivier Mountains.

08:15 – Hike the Zig Zag Path
Follow the historic Zig Zag Path as it winds steadily up the mountainside through pristine fynbos vegetation. Along the way, enjoy increasingly spectacular views over Hermanus, Walker Bay, and the surrounding Overberg landscape.

09:45 – Summit & Scenic Break
Reach the upper slopes and take a well-earned break to soak up the panoramic views. Enjoy your packed lunch while overlooking Walker Bay, one of South Africa's most beautiful coastlines.

10:15 – Traverse the Dragon's Back Ridge
Continue along the dramatic Dragon's Back Ridge, one of the most scenic sections of the hike. This exposed ridgeline offers incredible photo opportunities and uninterrupted mountain and ocean vistas.

How long is the hike?

The hike covers approximately 8km and takes around 4 to 5 hours, including breaks, photo stops, and lunch.

What should I bring?

We recommend comfortable hiking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a light jacket, and at least 1 litre of water. Don't forget your camera or smartphone for the incredible views.
