Our Pilanesberg Safari Day Tour – About the Pilanesberg
The Pilanesberg is situated about 2 hours from Johannesburg and is home to over 10,000 mammal species and an array of plant species. As with most reserves within Africa due to the expansion of urban humans, the entire 500 square km park is fenced to keep the animals in. An unfortunate scenario that was bound to happen given the massive population growth of humans.
Estimated animal population in the Pilanesberg:
Lion: 60
Leopard: 30
Elephant: 220
Rhino: Classified due to the ongoing poaching problem
African Buffalo: 200
Zebra: 1700
Impala: 3000
Giraffe: 180
What makes our Pilanesberg Safari day tours different?
We get it!! It’s not every day you get to have an elephant stroll within 10m of your car. But for us it has been our passion and job for over 10 years. We have learnt through our experiences from travelers what they REALLY want on a day tour.
A balance of free time to just take in the freedom of the African bush, a mix of classic highlights and local secrets that only your guide will be able to tell you. And most of all, the obvious …. A mind blowing experience!!!
Our tour guides are born and bred in South Africa and have spent most of their lives around the Pilanesberg and they know their animals and where to find them more than anyone else. On your day trip you will not only see the Pilanesberg, you will live it.
The motto for our day tours to the Pilanesberg? Small intimate groups, responsible travel and fun. An incredible way to not only to forge new friendships and see wildlife, it’s about finding new perspectives. It’s the stories you share and experiences that stick around long after the smell of elephant dung leaves your shoes.
