Our Pilanesberg Safari Day Tour – About the Pilanesberg

The Pilanesberg is situated about 2 hours from Johannesburg and is home to over 10,000 mammal species and an array of plant species. As with most reserves within Africa due to the expansion of urban humans, the entire 500 square km park is fenced to keep the animals in. An unfortunate scenario that was bound to happen given the massive population growth of humans.

Our tour guides are born and bred in South Africa and have spent most of their lives around the Pilanesberg and they know their animals and where to find them more than anyone else. On your day trip you will not only see the Pilanesberg, you will live it.

Our Pilanesberg Safari begins with a hotel pick up anywhere in Johannesburg or Pretoria between 6am to 7am depending on where you are located. We then talkie the 2 hour drive to Pilanesberg stopping at a station on the way for snacks if needed. Once at Pilanesberg we load you onto our open game vehicle where we will embark on a 3 hour safari before having lunch at the Pilanesberg Centre. After lunch we will then embark on another 2 hour or so game drive before returning to our standard air conditioned vehicle to head back to Johannesburg. We generally arrive back in Johannesburg between 6 to 7pm.
