Surfing lessons in Hermanus

Based at Voelklip, Hermanus’ most learner friendly location, we offer year round surfing lessons for people of all ages, sizes and ability levels. We have a team of local surfing instructors that we have partnered up with. They have been surfing in Hermanus since they were toddlers.

We are dedicated to providing the best surfing lessons in Hermanus at the best location in the area. We provide personalised instruction and feedback so rather than standing on the shore watching you struggle, our instructors get right amongst it with you, doing all we can to make sure your surfing experience is something you will never forget.

What is the cost for the surfing lessons in Hermanus?

R450 for a 1 hour session.

The cost includes the surfboard and wetsuit rental

The basics?

Our 1.5 hour surfing lessons consist of a general warm up, short land instruction and most importantly surfing! We use safe, soft material surfboards ideal for learning. You will meet your surfing instructor at the Voelklip beach. He will also be in contact via wottsup prior to the lesson.There are toilets and changing facilities at the beach. All you need to bring is your swimming gear, sunscreen, towel and a positive attitude!

When are the lessons?

Surfing is possible all through the year in Hermanus. Water temperatures in winter can drop to 14 degrees Celsius and 20 in summer. However, stress not. An adequate wetsuit will be provided. Obviously there will be days when the conditions, weather, waves and tides may not be the most favourable for a surfing lesson. We would advise you prior to you making a booking.  If the weather is not favourable,  we have many other tour options available for you to choose from.
